Henna, "Lawsonia inermis", is a shrub or small tree that grows in hot, dry climates.
It is used to keep the hair healthy and cover gray.
Other herbs like, indigo, amla and cassia are also used to achieve different color variations. All promote healthy conditions of the skin and hair.

Moira's career began in Atlanta, GA at an Aveda Concept Salon. Her expertise in hairstyling landed her numerous print projects and famous clients. Moira (AKA Mary Mullavey) has been featured in leading magazines, such as Lucky Magazine and Teen Magazine. Over time Moira became extremely sensitive to ammoniated hair color and products containing synthetic chemicals. She decided to make a healthier choice for herself and for her clients. After educating herself on the dangers of fragrance chemicals, she began using color free of ammonia and products free of toxic fragrance chemicals. Moira realized truly healthy hair and skincare products are hard to find. You must read labels. Fragrance chemicals are in many products, 95% of chemicals in fragrances are synthetic compounds derived from petroleum. Your skin, your body's largest organ, absorbs these chemicals by direct application and by exposure to air containing fragrances. These synthetics may cause neurological, respiratory, hormone-disrupting, systemic and environmental effects.

This charming young chap is Bowden or "Bo". He is my 3 year old Bullmastiff who likes to join me at the studio. He's a big boy, but is very friendly and loves affection.
