Henna Body Art

Henna Tattoo Artist, Melissa Morrison

"Mehndi" is the art of body painting with henna and has been around for centuries. Henna is a natural plant that stains the skin an orange-brown color.

For thousands of years, in the Middle East, Africa, and India, the henna plant is believed to bring love and good fortune, and to protect against evil. Henna tattoos are traditionally practiced for wedding ceremonies, during important rites of passage, and in times of celebration.

A henna tattoo will typically fade in 1 - 3 weeks depending on where the tattoo is placed on the body. It is a stain that will fade as your skin exfoliates.
